We started The Bondi Brief because the stories that shape this stretch of coast — the cafe that quietly anchors a street, the surf club running nippers, the apartment block weighing up a strata levy — read better when someone local is writing them.

Our newsroom is small and deeply local. We cover local news, beaches and surf, food and drink, property, transport, culture, sport and weather across the eastern beaches, and we're proud to do it independently.

What we believe
